Funda brings together housing stock supplied by members of the Netherlands association of Real Estate Brokers (NVM) and independently-sourced neighbourhood information from publishing house Wegener NV. This combination of real estate information from these two unique sources creates a powerful resource for home buyers, and a highly attractive place to sell property.
Funda runs several succesful websites:
- www.funda.nl - the award-winning funda.nl website is the main resource for people seeking a house in the Netherlands. Over 70% of the available housing supply in the Netherlands is displayed at the funda.nl site. Funda.nl lists properties for sale, for rent, recreational homes and new premises in the Netherlands as well as properties throughout Europe.
- www.fundainbusiness.nl - funda in business displays commercial real estate properties (e.g., office premises, retail, hotels, restaurants, bars, development land).
All websites are accessible to the public and free of charge. The main language on the funda websites is Dutch, with the exception of funda Europe.
Business model
Funda has several sources of income, the most important of which are online advertising, e-mail marketing and sponsoring. Milestones
- January 2001: incorporation of funda organization
- April 2001: funda.nl website receives over one million daily page views
- March 2002: introduction of funda i-mode site

- April 2004: funda.nl wins the prestigious "2C Usability Award, 2004"; funda.nl is considered the most user-friendly site of the Netherlands.

- February 2005: funda.nl receives over seven million daily page views
Statistics
Funda.nl currently has over 200.000 visitors a day (April 2005). The average visitor views 30 pages for about 17 minutes. Funda.nl gets about 7 million page views a day and is therefore the largest and most intensively visited real estate site in the Netherlands.
