A tour
The first floor
Upon entering through the living room with modern open kitchen at the front immediately appeals to the imagination. The custom kitchen is equipped with various built-in appliances and the room gives a spacious and open feeling. At the rear are the two spacious bedrooms, both with fitted wardrobes and bathrooms together with a bath, two showers and sinks. The entire apartment has underfloor heating and a lighting plan is available. Light materials and colors have been used, which gives a feeling of elegance and luxury.
The project
The Artesia consists of a triptych of 17th-century buildings, located at Herengracht 539 – 543 and the associated buildings on Reguliersdwarsstraat behind it. This concerns house numbers 98, 100 to 104 and 106, including the original coach house.
The houses will be connected to a thermal storage system with 17 groundwater wells of approximately three hundred meters deep. The sources provide heating or cooling by means of the installed heat pumps. The buildings and apartments are also structurally insulated by means of retaining walls, insulated floors and roofs. In this way, a gas-free complex with energy label A++(+) is realized. The project design was done by Hofman Dujardin who focus on a high-end look and feel.
The environment and accessibility
The Reguliersdwarsstraat is characterized by its village-like character in the center of Amsterdam. The area offers a wide range of shops, restaurants, terraces, coffee cafes and cultural hotspots such as the Rijksmuseum, De Hermitage, Royal Theater Carré, Hortus Botanicus and Artis. The house is easily accessible by the various tram and bus stops and the metro station of the North / South line on the Rokin.
