Primary and secondary schools are also within walking/short cycling distance and the International School of Amsterdam is also easily accessible by bike. The house is just a few minutes' bike ride away from the extensive neighbourhood shopping centre. The large, covered city centre of Amstelveen is about 5 km from the house. You can get a breath of fresh air in the Amsterdamse Bos forest and De Poel, which are located at a short cycling distance, or in the extensive polder area of the Bovenkerkerpolder, just outside the neighbourhood.
