Description
Traditional Dutch boatbuilding, six sleeping places and a current berth in Schellingwoude: this yard-built Schokker dates from the 1960s and measures 12 metres in length with a beam of 4 metres. The flat-bottomed vessel features teak on the deck and superstructure, almost-new sails and a complete refit carried out approximately two years ago. A galley, seating and separate sleeping areas provide the facilities for recreational stays close to Amsterdam.
A traditional Dutch vessel
The Schokker is a distinctive Dutch flat-bottomed boat type. Built at a shipyard in the 1960s, this example combines its traditional form with teak detailing on the deck and superstructure. The sails are in nearly new condition, adding to its appeal for enthusiasts of classic Dutch vessels.
Accommodation for six
The interior includes a galley and seating, providing space to prepare meals and spend time together aboard. Sleeping accommodation comprises an enclosed double cabin and a second enclosed sleeping area with four single berths. The six sleeping places allow family or friends to stay aboard, with the accommodation divided between two separate areas.
Practical facilities
A new galley boiler supplies hot water at the kitchen. There is a toilet aboard, while shower facilities are available at the marina. No heating system is currently installed. Diesel warm-air heating with a thermostat is a possible addition and can be discussed separately.
Refit and ongoing care
The vessel underwent a complete refit approximately two years ago, during which it was fully blasted. It is offered in its present condition on an “as is” basis, with its existing equipment and any defects. Continued maintenance remains part of owning a boat, including attention to the hull, deck, paintwork, rig and onboard systems. Buyers considering a classic flat-bottomed vessel should allow time and budget for this upkeep. Alterations and additional work are available at extra cost.
Schellingwoude ashore
The current berth is at Jachthaven Schellingwoude, Schellingwouderdijk 420 in Amsterdam-Noord. The neighbourhood offers a village setting beside the water while keeping the capital close by. Walks along the dike and cycle rides towards Durgerdam or the countryside around Ransdorp provide options for time ashore. Landmarkt in Schellingwoude is a local choice for groceries. Amsterdam’s museums, restaurants and cultural attractions offer further possibilities during a stay aboard.
Explore Waterland
Beyond Schellingwoude, Landelijk Noord and Waterland offer a landscape of villages, fields and waterways. Walking and cycling provide ways to explore the area, while the marina’s position on open navigable water complements the vessel’s nautical character. The setting brings countryside outings and visits to Amsterdam together in one location.
Access and parking
Schellingwoude can be reached by car via the A10 ring road and local roads through Amsterdam-Noord. Routes through the IJtunnel lead towards the city centre. Bus services in the surrounding area connect with Amsterdam’s public transport network. Cycling is another option for exploring Noord and reaching connections towards central Amsterdam. A blue parking zone applies near the berth.
Berth fees
The annual berth fee is €3,600, payable in monthly instalments of €300.
Recreational use
The vessel is offered for recreational use. Extended recreational stays are subject to the applicable berth arrangements and conditions. Registration at the berth address is not possible.
Purchase financing
Financing may be available, subject to assessment and approval by the finance provider. The available options depend on the vessel, the buyer’s personal circumstances and the provider’s terms.
