The House
The large plot offers optimal privacy. At least three to four cars can be parked on the property in front of the house. On the street and on the opposite side of Ophelialaan, there is ample public parking. Although the house has an official front door from which the hall leads to the living room, the back entrance is usually used. This entrance leads into a spacious hall with a beautiful terrazzo floor, built-in closets, a toilet, and access to a good office room at the back of the house. From the hall, you can also walk straight into the cozy dining room/kitchen-diner at the back of the house. Directly adjacent to this dining room is a large veranda, built for long summer evenings, and a conservatory heated by a wood-burning stove for the winters. The entire ground floor features an attractive, continuous parquet floor. The kitchen, located at the front of the house, is fully equipped with an A-brand refrigerator, freezer, gas stove, built-in coffee maker, combi microwave, oven, and dishwasher.
The sitting room is also at the front of the house. With its 1930s-style en-suite doors, this space can be separated from the dining room, ensuring everyone has their own spot in the house.
The first floor features four substantial (bed)rooms and two bathrooms. A separate toilet is located on the landing. The architectural style, combined with the original construction year and the later well-thought-out extensions, ensures that no room is "standard." The upper floor has dormer windows and straight-section windows. Rooms have built-in wardrobes, giving each room its own atmosphere. More than enough storage space makes this house particularly practical as a family home. There are two staircases leading from the ground floor to the upper floor. Theoretically, you could separate the master bedroom with its own bathroom from the rest of the upstairs area. The attic houses a practical laundry room and has an additional bedroom.
The Garden
The garden is beautifully landscaped, offering various sun and shade spots in addition to the aforementioned "outdoor room" provided by the veranda. Another covered area has been created at the back of the garden. The backyard faces south/west, so you'll enjoy the sun until late afternoon. The section of the garden behind the monumental "PEN-house" (transformer station) has been set up as a small football pitch and trampoline area for the children. This is where you'll want to grow up! At the back of the garden, there's a covered area and three additional storage sheds.
Aalsmeer
Aalsmeer is an attractive village to live in. It stretches elongated to the northeast against Amstelveen and to the southwest against the Westeinderplassen lake. Aalsmeer is centrally located in the Randstad conurbation and is easily accessible via various arterial roads. The A4/Ring A10 and A5 motorways are quickly reached. Schiphol Airport, Amsterdam/Amstelveen, the Amsterdamse Bos forest, Haarlem, Leiden... you'll be on your way there in no time. Within half an hour, you can be in the center of Amsterdam. Moreover, Amsterdam is also easily accessible by electric bicycle via the Amsterdamse Bos or along the Haarlemmermeer dike, via Badhoevedorp and Sloten. A fast R-net connection means you can catch a bus every fifteen minutes to Hoofddorp NS station. The other direction, towards Uithoorn, is attractive because after a few stops you can transfer to the direct express tram connection to Amsterdam-Zuid station. Buses run directly to Haarlem, Amsterdam, and Utrecht. The shops in "Ophelia" shopping center are within walking distance of the house. The shops in the old town are within cycling distance, as are Westeinderstrand beach and various sport facilities.
