The Slotrampweg was once the access road to the beautiful castle of the Ramp family in the forests of the seigniory of Bergen (16th-18th century). This castle was known by different names, viz. Rampenbosch or Rampenburg, Huize te Ramp or Slot Ramp. There is even a drawing of the castle in the Rijksmuseum! However, the Ramp family is not doing very well financially and in 1739 the Castle is sold to Count Willem Adriaan van Nassau (Lord of Bergen). The castle is more and more dilapidated and is unfortunately demolished in 1775. You can probably imagine that here, in this beautiful wooded area, there is a special atmosphere.
