The connection to the city is more than excellent including the streetcar and metro. Within walking distance are the metro stations Wibautstraat and Weesperplein and train station Amstel Station. By car you are within 5 minutes the Ring A10. Seller says What makes the current residents enjoy living here and why did they decide to sell the house? The seller tells. When did you buy the house and why did you decide to buy this house? We bought the house in 2013 after looking for some months. As soon as we stepped into the apartment and saw the vaulted ceiling and warm wooden beams, we knew we had found our home. We could not believe we could find such a hidden gem. It is perfect for Amsterdam living: close to everything charming about the city without the busy-ness. We realized immediately this is a rare find of an apartment for downtown Amsterdam. What makes it so pleasant to live in this house and in this neighborhood? The apartment has immediate wow factor: bright, fun features including clever storage. We have moved the master bedroom to the back of the house making it a peaceful joy to wake up every morning to a grand old tree. It is not only a cosy and fun place to live, but also to entertain, particularly the open space kitchen and the cooking island is fabulous to do so. We have tons of lovely memories cooking, sharing food and drinks (we have to tell non-Amsterdam visitors that not all apartments in the city are not like this!) with fun humans. Outdoor spaces are not only at the doorstep, but a variety of accessible parks make being outside easy and handy, especially as we have a dog. The river and trees offer a lot of greenery and refuge for a variety of birds, which we enjoy watching from our bedroom and office windows and from the riverside, particularly in spring with the newborns. We love the markets from the mainstream to more multi-ethnic such as Dapper Market and Chinatown. Of course, having a wide choice of shopping, dining and cafes, all within convenient walking, makes life that much more enjoyable (and privileged). We dont have/need a car (especially are there are short-term rentals right in front). Airport is just 20-30 minutes away by public transport! Why are you leaving/why is the house for sale? We are on to other adventures and projects that take us to France!
