Description

Very nicely situated three/four-room apartment (63 m²) in the spacious Nieuwe Pijp of the popular Amsterdam Zuid with a cozy kitchen and adjoining terrace with southern sun position. Layout second floor: You enter the central hall where all rooms open out. The spacious and serene living room is located at the front of the building with a view of the monumental buildings on the other side of the street by architect Berlage. Large windows let in the daylight, filtered by the soft green leaves of the acacia trees. The living room flows into the spacious kitchen. The modern steel sliding construction with glass panels makes it possible to connect or separate the rooms as desired. In the kitchen, the table is prominently placed in the middle for cozy drinks and dinners with friends. The kitchen has an elephant-gray granite look worktop and a selection of built-in appliances are located behind the eggshell-white handle-less cupboard doors (including a dishwasher and even a washing machine). Cooking, in full view of friends at the table, is therefore a pleasant affair. And in the summer you can of course first have an aperitif at your bistro set on the balcony, with a view of the green courtyard, which borders directly on the spacious kitchen-diner. The bathroom is fully tiled with large snowy owl-white tiles on the wall and subdued mouse-grey tiles on the floor, with the walk-in shower equipped with a comfortable rain shower and a practical hand shower. Of course, the toilet is wall-mounted with a sea-green tiled niche above it that gives a subtle decorative accent to the room. For extra hygiene, a small hand shower is mounted next to the toilet. Both bedrooms are large in size and therefore ideal for house sharers, a home office or for a family. The master bedroom has a built-in wardrobe for tidy storage space. With a living area of ??63m², a sunny balcony with southern sun exposure, a view of greenery on both sides and a modern, well-thought-out finish, this is a comfortable and atmospheric apartment in a particularly nice location. NB: low leasehold until 2046 and perpetual leasehold under favorable conditions. The area is located between the Tweede Van der Helststraat and the Van Woustraat, which is known for the architecture from the Amsterdam School movement, but the most famous is the complex that was designed by Michel de Klerk and Piet Kramer was designed for the housing association De Dageraad. The surrounding area was divided between housing association Schaepman and the Vereniging Onze Woning, of which the Mauvestraat is also a part. The Dageraad complex from 1919-1922 is architecturally very monumental and is considered one of the showpieces of the Amsterdam School. It includes the Pieter Lodewijk Takstraat, the Thérèse Schwartzeplein, the Henriëtte Ronnerplein and the Burgemeester Tellegenstraat. The complex includes two symmetrical blocks. The most characteristic parts are the corner buildings on the Burgemeester Tellegenstraat, but the buildings on the Thérèse Schwartzeplein and the Henriëtte Ronnerplein are also famous. The view from the living room at the Mauvestraat 61 – II can therefore be called phenomenal. The Nieuwe Pijp, also known as the Zuid-Pijp, was built at the time for the well-to-do middle class. Several renowned architects designed beautiful facades under the leadership of master builder Berlage in the style of the Amsterdam School with wide streets and large squares with benches and flower beds for the residents to relax after work and during the weekend. The district is still very popular among (future) Amsterdammers who also like to do their shopping locally. Several small businesses are located on the Van Woustraat, but the larger supermarkets are of course also present; Albert Heijn has branches on both the Van Woustraat and the Rijnstraat, the Dirk van den Broek is diagonally opposite the AH in the Rijnstraat and on the Van Woustraat there are even ecological supermarkets Landmarkt and EkoPlaza and an oriental supermarket Genko; plenty of choice. And if you don't want to cook, there are nice options: the cozy wine bars de Paskamer and Da Nada, the nice small-scale restaurant Wijmpje Beukers, or of course romantic dining with the passionate chef of La Maria on the Vechtstraat or at the Pekelhaaring company on the Van Woustraat. For drinks, there are endless options, including the characteristic brown village cafe Cafe de Amstel diagonally opposite on the Amstelkade, the well-known Rijnbar around the corner, or the hip and alternative Tolbar with their large terrace in the sun.
