The seller explains What makes the current residents enjoy living here so much and why have they decided to sell the property? The seller explains. When did you purchase the property and why did you decide to purchase it at that time? We bought this house in February 2022 and received the keys in July 2022: our first home together! We had been looking for a house in Amsterdam for some time and after a number of viewings, we ended up in Zeeburgereiland. What a beautiful place this is! It is a nice, quiet neighbourhood and yet close to the city. You can hop on your bicycle or take the tram and you're there in no time. What makes living in this house and this neighbourhood so pleasant? This house: wonderful! We have enjoyed living here for almost four years. It's great to have our own front door and all the space inside the house. We have often enjoyed a cup of coffee in the sun on the balcony or outside the front door. But in winter, it's also nice to sit inside on the sofa. We have always felt very comfortable here. What makes this house extra comfortable is the heating and cooling system. It's never really cold here, and certainly not hot in the warm summers. And how nice: a cooker and solar panels! When we bought the house, we had plans to renovate the bathroom, because it's quite basic. In the end, we didn't do that, because our attention and spending went to other things. Need to do the daily shopping? Just walk out the door, turn the corner, and you'll find yourself at the small Albert Heijn supermarket. Super convenient! A little further away, for example in IJburg or Amsterdam-Oost, you'll also find other supermarkets. What makes this neighbourhood so pleasant is its liveliness when the sun is shining or when there's snow on the ground: everyone comes outside and gathers in the middle of the island. It's fun at the skate park and the sports fields (including football pitches and padel courts). Fancy a cup of coffee? Then head to one of the coffee shops around the corner. And if you need more nature, you've come to the right place. Think of Amsterdam-Noord or the Diemerpark, where you can see rabbits hopping around. Work has been underway on the island for some time to renovate the silos. This year, a cinema and a gym, among other things, will open here, and there is more to come. Why are you leaving/why is the property for sale? We are leaving this house and Zeeburgereiland because we are moving to the Zaanstreek to live by the water. Still, we will miss this house and the neighbourhood enormously. We will definitely come back here again.
