This residential building was built on the site of the Alexanderkazerne, which was demolished in 1969, under the architecture of S. Schamhart and J. van Beek. One of the sources of inspiration is the Lillington Gardens residential complex in London (1961-1971), a design by R. Westman and Darbourne & Darke. The building in the shape of a whimsical S with 5 to 9 floors has 293 homes and is located on an artificial dune with storage rooms and garages. The directions of the building parts are derived from the surrounding street pattern. The facades are made of light yellow brick.
