Why did we fall in love with this beautiful property 53 years ago?
Not because the house looked so good inside, but because we were young and enthusiastic, and saw opportunities everywhere to maintain it well, while respecting the original details.
The large garden, in poor condition, didn't bother us. It was large enough for gardening, but also big enough to create a play area for children.
And that's how it turned out.
We loved living here. Our two daughters played here with lots of friends. And after our daughters left home and grandchildren arrived, this process continued with playing in the house and garden.
The neighborhood is sociable and welcoming. There are joint initiatives for New Year's drinks or celebrating a neighborhood day.
Over the years, we've done a lot of work on the house and garden.
We started early on to maintain the garden and house as sustainably as possible.

· We've insulated and renovated the attic, so that the old beams remain visible.
· We've always made sure everything is well-painted and that all windows are double-glazed.
· We've installed a new front door and balcony based on an old photo.

· We've had the kitchen extended to match the house.
· We've enlarged the small downstairs toilet.
· We've installed new piles under the house.
· We've made the bathroom suitable for lifelong use.
· We've renovated the doors in the conservatory so that you can look out over the garden.
Too much to mention in those 53 years. And we did make plans for what hasn't been done yet, but unfortunately, that didn't work out. I'd like to discuss those plans with the new residents. I won't get involved in what happens with them. That's up to the new residents.
Now that I live here alone, the house is too big, too difficult, and too much maintenance for me. I'm saying goodbye to this wonderful house with a heavy heart, but I wish the new residents the best. And I truly hope they'll enjoy living here as much as we did.
