Description
Unique! Nature, tranquility and space. Living on your own island in Middelie surrounded by an open and watery peat meadow landscape!
In the beautiful North Holland polder landscape between Edam and Oosthuizen, just over 6 kilometers from Purmerend and 25 kilometers from the Amsterdam ring road, stands this unique farmhouse which is connected via a conservatory to a second small farmhouse, a large shed and a park-like garden with a large natural pond. The total plot size is no less than 14,500 m2 and the farmhouse, which consists of two parts, is very large with a living area of 422 m2. Here you can live spaciously, live with parents or other family members, work from home and make music to your heart's content without disturbing anyone.
Welcome to this special place, where living is enjoyable every day. Middelie has its own elementary school, preschool and after-school care. Het Wapen van Middelie, in the heart of the village, is a fine place to eat. For other amenities, including a supermarket and sports facilities, you can go to Oosthuizen, Purmerend and Edam. Since 2016 Middelie is part of the municipality of Edam-Volendam, a versatile municipality with approximately 37,000 inhabitants.
Layout:
Ground floor:
The entrance with a beautiful double gate and a bridge over the water is a welcome in style. If the car is parked, walk to the entrance of the farmhouse. This is located to the left of the quarter-round conservatory.
Behind the front door is the stately hall which, like the rest of the farmhouse, is exceptionally spacious. Nice elements are the paneled doors, wall tiles, granito floor and the spiral staircase to the second floor. In the rear part of the hall are a staircase closet, storage room and a generous guest toilet.
The living/dining room with open kitchen is located at the front of the farmhouse, with large windows on the east, south and west sides. The sun falls in all day and the view is unparalleled. Atmosphere makers are the parquet floor, wood stove, sliding doors with stained glass windows to the hall and paneling with wide window sills.
The kitchen has a solid wood U-shaped countertop with a beautiful, rounded hardstone countertop. The large sink is also made of hard stone, which goes well with the granito floor with marble inlay. This kitchen is equipped with all the necessary appliances, including a large gas stove with double oven. From the hall you can reach a spacious bathroom, which has classic influences in terms of design. The space is laid out with a bathtub, shower and two sinks.
Second floor:
The landing is a stately space with paneled doors, paneling and ornamental ceiling. From here three generous bedrooms, a dressing room, toilet room and a storage/laundry room can be reached. Space abounds, including in the slopes of the roof where storage space has been created.
In the master bedroom are two staircases, to the generous basement and a spacious bedroom with two skylights. The basement, equipped with heating and electricity, is currently used as a gym. Given the size of the second living area (basement / first floor / second floor), it is possible for parents or other family members to live on their own property, but under their “own” roof.
Second floor:
Inside the bell farmhouse is a fixed staircase to a spacious attic room. With a skylight and a high ridge, this is a space with various uses, from bedroom/guest room to play loft.
Small stolp:
From the hall is a portal to reach, with a second toilet room and a wide passage to the conservatory. A striking, quarter-round conservatory connects the farmhouse with the second living area, the small bell house, built in the same style. Here, on the first floor, are a spacious sitting room with wood-burning stove and the master bedroom with windows on three sides.
Shed:
For storage, hobby and entrepreneurs, the outbuilding is a fantastic space. The first floor has a size of approximately 220 m2, with a kitchen and a sanitary group. All facilities are available, from heating to power and lighting. There are two overhead doors at the front and a fixed staircase gives access to two multi-purpose rooms, one of which is in use as a music room. Also, the shed has a heavy goods elevator to get all necessary items upstairs.
Garden:
With a total plot size of 14,500 m2, including water, there is a garden of great size. The lawn, trees and other plantings give the garden a park-like appearance and there is ample on-site parking, including for large vehicles. The combination of the plot and the shed offers the possibility of keeping animals and the pond with gazebo is a relaxing place, where birds and other animals can be seen.
Parking:
In the shed and on the paved outdoor area is more than enough parking space.
Environment:
The beautiful surroundings with villages like Schardam, Hobrede, Oosthuizen and Warder invite you to go walking, running, cycling and rollerblading. After about 10 car minutes you reach the ramp of the A7, and within 2min on the provincial road N244, making good connections in all directions.
