History of the Heliport Complex:
The complex owes its name to the helicopter landing site that existed here between 1953 and 1966. In 1976, a design competition was launched to improve livability in the city center. The winning design came from architect Jan Verhoeven and included 584 homes, 4 commercial spaces, and 2 shared (non-public) parking garages. This highly varied complex features multiple water elements, green areas, a private courtyard, and elevators. It was completed in 1983.
