Description
Multifunctional!
Living, working and recreating on your own plot? That is now possible in the Beemster World Heritage Site. Anyone who comes to Wormerweg 17 in Westbeemster will experience for themselves what possibilities there are here to transform living and/or working into a personal happiness. A house in which the authentic elements of the past are present and go hand in hand with the comfort of today. And then we have not yet told you about the large site with no fewer than 6 outbuildings, a gigantic outdoor kitchen, a super large garden and to top it all off: your own forest!
The possibilities here are unprecedented: living and working, your own B&B, care home, etc. etc.
Would you like to walk around the site with us? Then we will show you what can be found here and we promise you now: that is quite a lot!
From the Wormerweg you can already see the characteristic house. We will first take a look here.
We enter the house through the side entrance. You immediately taste the atmosphere of the past here, but you still have all the modern conveniences. The entrance gives access to the hall and the utility room with refrigerator, freezer and washing machine and dryer connection.
We walk through to the central hall. From this hall you have access to the bathroom, separate toilet and the living room with kitchen.
The bathroom still needs some final finishing touches. In the bathroom there is a large double shower, a double sink and a bath.
The living room is located in the extension at the back of the house. On cold winter days you can light the wood stove. The beautiful wooden floor gives the room a warm appearance. In the original house you will find the kitchen. The kitchen in U-shape is the eye-catcher of this room. In the beautiful handmade wooden kitchen you will find an integrated refrigerator and dishwasher, a Quooker and a real AGA stove. The hard stone countertop with sink completes the kitchen. The marble floor and walls tiled with original antique tiles are not only practical but also very stylish and fit in perfectly with the atmosphere of the house. There is enough space for a large dining table and from here you look out over the Beemster meadows at the front. We take the stairs to the first floor. Here you see a bedroom, an intermediate space and a storage space for clothes.
We promised you many outbuildings. Hold on tight, we will take you along the no less than 7 outbuildings that you can find on the site.
1) Back house
The back house is located on the attractive courtyard behind the house. The upper floor is now used as a guest house with 2 bedrooms and a toilet. There is also a large canopy against a stone garden wall. This space can be used as a storage room or bicycle shed.
2) Garage
Adjacent to the back house you will find a heated garage and a sink with hot and cold water.
Let's continue.
3) Shop space
The third outbuilding is the elongated shop with underfloor heating and a storage/central heating room. This building was recently built in authentic style and looks great and the use of this space can be filled in many ways.
On to the fourth outbuilding opposite the third.
4) Showroom with office and toilet
This is currently a showroom with office space and toilet. This building is traditionally built and very atmospheric, not least because of the wood finish and the beautiful wooden beamed ceiling. Will this be your shop or will you use it as an office, studio or cozy workshop space. There is also a large upstairs space that you can use as storage space, for example. However, a lot of cupboard space has already been created. All rooms have central heating
5) Workshop
Next, you see the large workshop with large attic floor. This stone building has cavity walls, a concrete foundation and floor and a steel construction with wooden beams. The large folding doors of no less than 2.70 meters high are not only beautiful to look at but certainly also very practical. The attic floor offers many possibilities. The workshop has its own water and gas meter and recently the meter cupboard with 380 and many connections has been renewed. The workshop and attic are centrally heated and there is also a toilet here. All preparations have already been made to make an extra home here in the future. Are you looking for a place where you can live and work on your own property? Then that is certainly feasible here. Of course, everything must be done with permission from the municipality.
6) Shed
The sixth building is a large wooden shed with 220 and 380 connections. Perfect for storing materials. Directly accessible from the path through the large double doors.
7) Outdoor kitchen/canopy
Finally, you will find the outdoor kitchen in the large garden. This canopy is the place where you can enjoy the outdoors on warm and cold days. Inside you will find an authentic kitchen with a hard stone countertop with sink and refrigerator. Opposite you will see a cupboard wall where you can store the supplies for an outdoor life. You can open the large folding glass doors on warm days.
Would you like to walk along the enormous plot? This is the place for adventurous outdoor people. Here you have room for your own vegetable garden, playground or flower garden or maybe you want it all. In any case, you will not lack space. Walk on to your own forest with a view of the Beemster meadows all around. Your own forest! Who wouldn't want that?!
You will find this authentic house in the Beemster world heritage site. This polder also has a special history. In 1612, the polder was drained by Jan Adriaenszoon Leeghwater. It served as a granary for the people of Amsterdam. The diamond pattern of the roads in the polder became the example for the construction of the roads of New York. However, the Beemster is not a place where time has stood still. All facilities can be found in the village. In the center of Middenbeemster, for example, there is a primary school, supermarket, various nice shops and also a gym. Do you like to go out for dinner? At a short distance you will find several restaurants in Middenbeemster or De Rijp.
The connection to Amsterdam is also good. Within 30 minutes you are in the center of the capital by car.
