SURROUNDINGS
Thanks to its direct connection to the historic district of Wyck, this apartment is centrally located. The district name “Céramique” comes from the former Société Céramique pottery factory once located here. In the original plans for Céramique, Plein 1992 was often referred to as the “northern hub” or, due to its elevated position along the Meuse, as the “city balcony.” Plein 1992 lies in the northern part of the district between the Meuse and the curve in Avenue Céramique. The Hoge Brug connects Plein 1992 on the right bank of the Meuse with the City Park on the left bank. On the south side, the square overlooks the Charles Eyckpark.
To the east, the square offers views of the Siza Tower (by Portuguese architect Álvaro Siza) and the La Fortezza building (by Swiss architect Mario Botta) in which this apartment is located, although neither directly borders the square.
