We worked with Rosanne Vermeulen to sell our apartment in Haarlem. She did a good job with the market research, styling advice, photography, preparing the listing, managing the viewings, and keeping us updated throughout the process. We appreciated her efforts in these areas. Our main concern was the approach to pricing and negotiations, where we felt there was too much pressure to complete the sale quickly: - After a relatively short period without offers, she suggested taking the property off the market and relisting it at a lower asking price. - When we received an offer below our asking price, the initial advice was to accept it rather than explore the possibility of negotiating, with the concern that we might otherwise lose the deal. We had to ask her explicitly to start negotiating with the buyers. We understand the market can be challenging, but we expected our selling agent to proactively explore opportunities to achieve the best possible outcome for us. Instead, we felt too much emphasis was placed on securing a deal quickly, which left us wondering whether we could have achieved a better result. Overall, the marketing and presentation of the apartment were handled well, but we were disappointed with the negotiation strategy and the pressure to lower our expectations and conclude the sale.
