We initially found Janson Makelaardij through a simple Google search and were unsure whether we were choosing the right agency. However, they exceeded our expectations in every possible way.
Our agent, Erwin, was exceptional: not only does he have deep knowledge of The Hague’s real estate market, he is also able to provide insightful guidance on technical aspects of a property (for example where asbestos may be expected, which areas might require renovation, the age and condition of the electrical systems, etc) He is also able to clearly explain leasehold details, VvE regulations, and other administrative aspects. Furthermore, he was able to predict the final selling price of most properties with good accuracy, except maybe with some crazy high bids. His (English) communication skills are excellent and he consistently explained everything clearly and patiently, making us feel comfortable and confident throughout the process. No question ever felt too small or unimportant. Finally, during the purchase of our home, Erwin saved us a significant amount of money through clever negotiation tactics.
We also came into contact with several other team members at the office, and everyone was equally supportive, professional, and friendly. It was clear that the entire team works with a high level of integrity and dedication to their clients.
We are extremely glad that we chose Janson Makelaardij, and we would highly recommend them to anyone, especially first-time buyers, non-Dutch speakers, or anyone who simply wants expert guidance throughout the process.
